What is Screencast-O-Matic?

Screencast-O-Matic is a program available to PLNU instructors for easy screen recording and video editing.  Videos can be used in your Canvas course for flipped/blended learning or student assignments. Capture your screen, add your webcam video, and use narration to create customized videos. This software also includes video editing functions that allow you to add text and images, create automated captioning, zoom in on important information and more.

Uses include creating tutorials or lessons for classroom instruction and sharing videos with students so they can learn on their own allowing you to use your in-class time more efficiently. Videos can be embedded in your Canvas course and are perfect for students who want to review course material more than once.
